In this the information age, it can become increasingly difficult for the customer to obtain useful production information. Many large producers do their own nutritional research and "hold their cards close to their chest."

At Comparts, we have dedicated two 3,000-head wean-to-finish facilities to better understanding the nutritional needs of the Compart pig. One facility is a conventional nursery-finisher site, the other a wean-finish site featuring three 1000-head tunnel ventilated barns. Over 13,000 head of terminal market hogs, made up of 100% Compart genetics, are tested annually. This data is utilized to better understand the nutritional requirements of the Compart pig. Nutritional recommendations are made available to our customers. We believe this will give Compart customers a competitive edge over other producers who don't have this information.

The Compart family and Hubbard Feeds, Inc. have a joint research agreement at both of our research facilities. These facilities, known as Pinpoint Research, Inc., sites 1 and 2, are used to monitor genetic improvement and explore the nutrition requirements of today's market hog. This enables us to understand the daily feed intake, feed efficiency, and gives us an understanding of the growth curve of Compart genetics. Together, the Hubbard nutritionists and the Compart family conduct research, analyze data, and define future projects.

Here at Comparts, we make every attempt to take the guess work out of hog production. We can supply you with birth dates, litter information, sire, dam, scan figures, carcass data, and genetic history for each boar or gilt. Kill sheets from our herds as well as from our customers are available. Virtually all Midwest packers are represented.
